DANIELLE & ROB

MAY 20, 2017 . HISTORIC FORT WAYNE . DETROIT

ORIGIN STORY

SHE ASKED, "WILL YOU BE MY PARTNER FOR LIFE?"
HE SAID, "OF COURSE"

SUMMER 2010, DETROIT, ISLANDVIEW: Rob just completed 3 years at a plant biology research lab in East Lansing at Michigan State. Danielle just completed her Masters in the Bronx at Fordham University. Both were in a crossroads. Both were called to do a year of service in Detroit. Rob joined Cap Corps. Danielle joined Mercy Volunteer Corps. They first met by invite and insistance from a Sister of Mercy. Mary Ellen Howard RSM, Danielle, and her fellow Mercy Volunteers went to a BBQ at the Cap Corps house for a gathering of other volunteers in Detroit. Danielle saw Rob simultaneously handling a grill and two turntables. Rob sat and talked with Danielle as a Parliment Funkadelic record began to play.

FALL 2010, DETROIT, CORKTOWN: Rob and Danielle did the recycling for their respective service sites. On the trip back from the recycle center, a curious Danielle asked about the extremely large field near her house. Rob then introduced her to the famed old Tigers Stadium.

SUMMER 2012, DETROIT, BELLE ISLE: Rob and Danielle played their first season with the Hubbard Farms Bridge Crushers. This team was part of a co-ed, soccer, neighborhood league. They are still on the team, the games are now played at Historic Fort Wayne. Rob has brewed a unique beer for every single match since.

FALL 2015, DETROIT, OLD TIGERS STADIUM: Danielle and Rob did the recyling for their respective home. On the trip back from the recycle center, an insistent Danielle convinced Rob that they should run the bases of old Tigers Stadium before the hallowed grass would be ripped up due to a recent ruling from City Council. At home plate, surrounded by fat snowflakes, Danielle proposed to Robert.
